Phil Miller, Owner, Founder

Philip A Miller was born in Bismarck, ND graduating from Saint Mary’s Central High School in 1968. Phil is married to Carlotta (Dirk) Miller. While attending Bismarck Junior College, Phil enlisted in the North Dakota Army National Guard (NDARNG). Phil retired as a Master Sergeant from the NDARNG in March of 2009 with 29 years of honorable service.

Phil worked in general construction and cabinet making while serving in the NDARNG. In 1979 Phil discharged from the NDARNG to focus on construction projects throughout the state and into Montana and South Dakota.

After a ten year break in service, in 1990, Phil re-enlisted in the NDARNG and went to work full time for the NDARNG as the construction supervisor during the construction of the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery. After completion of construction of the cemetery, Phil held several positions at the cemetery, during which time he was instrumental in securing two grants for the cemetery in excess of four million dollars. After 21 years of service at the cemetery, Phil retired as the director on 31 December 2011.

On 1 January 2012, Phil started Honorable Memories LLC, with his son Curtis. Honorable Memories main focus is to manufacture cremation urns in the shape of a military headstone for which Phil has applied for a US patent.

Starting Honorable Memories is yet another way for Phil to continue serving Veterans as he has done so well in the past 20 plus years.
Phil is a life member of the Bismarck AMVETS, he is active in the Lloyd Spetz Post # 1 American Legion as the 1st Vice Commander and serves on their Executive Committee. Phil is also a member of the 40 ET-8 and the Bismarck Eagles Club and is a past member of the Military Affairs Committee. Phil also serves on his churches council.

Curt Miller, Production Manager

Curt Miller was born in Bismarck, North Dakota in July of 1973 and graduated from Saint Mary’s Central High School in 1991. Curt enlisted in the North Dakota Army National Guard after graduation where he honorably served for 9 years. Curt attended college at Bismarck State College where he earned an associate degree in arts and science and then on to the University of North Dakota where he earned a bachelor’s degree in biology.

For the past 21 years Curt had been an employee with Target Corporation where he gained vast experience in retail and customer service. Curt moved to Minneapolis in 2003 with Target where he had spent the last 8 years. In September of 2011 Curt moved back home to Bismarck to start Honorable Memories with his father Phil Miller.

Curt’s priority is to use his past experiences to produce great products honoring the men and women of our military while providing an outstanding customer service experience.
